Hahahah how generic! We really are looking for a place too! And we saw this place and it was modest so no big deal right???? Hahah wrong we got the long letter too. Soooo... I have decided to mess with these jokers!!! LOL!!! This is the letter I sent back!! ******
Hello,

I have been looking for a new place for about 2 weeks, so I have a credit report. I have always worked hard and paid on time for what I have needed. My credit score is 721 as of Aug 1. I would assume that the content of one's character must not be judged based on a credit report though. I have a good amount of money in savings as well. I had a personal loss in my direct family four months ago and there was a good deal of money left to me and my brother. I also have a Government job that pays $32.23 hrly. We work about 55 hours a week as well. I can assure you that paying would not be a problem. I would like to see the property. I am willing to give you $2500 cash down, if we like the place. I can send this to you or wherever I need to send it. If we like it alot, I would be willing to give you a down payment of $10,000 in cash. I am hoping this property is located outside of town. We all tend to be up late hours at night working on a case by case basis.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Jamie

You may be interested in joining our sister site www.419eater.com which is devoted to scambaiting. I hope you're taking precautions, such as not baiting from your real life email address. Criminals don't like being messed about with.

I just recieved this same email. I was looking for a property to rent and found this one too good to be true, so I googled his name and found you all. Thanks.... Scary how this is almost word for word the same as the others on this site.

RE: $850 / 3br - Immaculate 3Br 2Ba With Office And Screened Porch 69453 (Gladstone)
Hi
Thanks for responding to my ad on Craigslist for the rental property.
The property is still available. In fact, I was in town to sell the property but the buyer
backed out at the last minute because of financial difficulties. My misfortune is your
gain because I must rent it out quickly before I go back to my practice in New York.
I only want to deal with somebody who has a steady income and can pay the rent
on time. Please do not respond if you have a history of late rent payments or were
evicted within the past 5 years.
The rent is monthly with a yearly lease and it does not include utilities, except
water. It is available immediately and is not furnished. Small dogs and cats are
allowed with a refundable deposit of $100.00.
I need to get this place rented out as soon as possible because I am only in town for
a week so if you want to see it please contact me back right away and I will show it
to you immediately. I am available just about any time to show it to you.
I will have a lease prepared and ready when I show you the place so we can do this
right away if you like it. I'll give you the keys when you sign the lease. My staff will
handle the deposit and rent payments so you do not need to bring your checkbook.
Please bring identification.

You will also need to bring a credit report with you no later than 30 days old. I will
not run a credit report for you because I don't do this full time and I don't have an
office in this area.

I recommend this place: http://walps.com/creditreportcouponcode19957 because I
have used them before and they are quick and inexpensive. Also my link will take
you directly to a discount page. If you are around 550 or better and have never
been evicted you should be ok.
Please let me know when you want to see the property. I can answer the rest of your
questions when we get together. We can first meet at a public place of your choosing
if you desire. I must keep my cell phone open for medical emergencies so for now,
please contact me through email.

Best Regards,

I received the same e-mail for a rental property outside Philadelphia, PA. I thought it was too good to be true as well. The price was nice for the size of the apartment. I can't say I'm not disappointed. I've been searching for months and finally thought I found my perfect apartment. I think this guy should be prosecuted for interfering in legitimate, honest lives. No one deserves to be scammed.

I have to say that when I clicked on his link, it took me to Google.com. I thought this was strange so I went to the main page. It's scary how legit the company appears.

I hope that these posts will help others.
