THIS IS WHAT I RECEIVED. I DIDNT GIVE ANY INFORMATION AS THE LINK WENT STRAIGHT TO GOOGLE. I INPUT THE STACEY EMAIL ADDRESS AND WAS AMAZED TO SEE THE CORRESPONDENCE. THE INTERNET NEEDS A POLICE FORCE ALL OF ITS OWN TO STOP THIS. THE CRAIG LIST WILL LOSE ITS INTEGRITY UNLESS SOMETHING IS DONE.

Hi there,

I'm so sorry for this...but the couple that was looking at the place
originally, actually came back and put their deposit down. I
mentioned that things have been hectic around here... I guess they had
been calling me frantically, and my phone was in a spot in our house
that, for whatever reason, gets really bad reception...so I didn't
even notice they were trying to call back. Anyways, they just got
back in touch with my husband and signed the lease, and put down the
deposit and everything. I'm really sorry for all this confusion.

We own multiple properties in the area so we will definitely keep you
on the top of the list if anything else comes available soon.

Thanks,

Stacy

If it looks to good to be true......! I had no idea she/he/it was so prolific. In her first email to me she said her husband didn't want her to give out the address for "safety reasons". My response was "What about my safety?
My husband doesn't want me giving any info until i speak to you personally." Then I got the "the first couple came back blah blah. So I sent her a nasty answer which i won't repeat so imagine my surprise when she replied that the other people changed their mind and it's available now, my lucky day.
These are the 2 em
ail addresses i received from her [email protected] and [email protected]. Good thing I'm so skeptical of all thing s internet related.

This person has no house to sell

Following the link in the e-mail you will be redirected to a credit scoring agency and the scammer will receive a commission for each completed form : You may be asked to enter your Credit Card details to commence your free 7 day trial and your Credit Card may be compromised

Once you complete your free credit score order you will start your 7-day trial membership for credit scoring agency. After the trial period you will be billed every month for your membership.

The credit scoring agency may say that you may cancel within your trial period anytime at no cost. - however you may find it more difficult than you think to cancel,

Subscriptions such as web services such as this via your plastic are called recurring payments (or continuous payment authorities) and can be a nightmare to cancel.

I've been pursued recently, but I never trust emails with bad grammar. I'm wondering if there's any way to scam them...? I see scammers as the modern telemarketers, but doing a lot more damage. Whenever telemarketers would call me, I'd always mess with them. Act like I was being attacked at the moment of their call or pretend they we're a therapist. They hated it. I want to do something similar to these scammers. Any ideas? Or is it too dangerous to even try?

What you are asking about is called scambaiting. It is not something we cover here, but our sister site, 419eater.com, is dedicated to scambaiting, and how to do it safely and effectively. Stop over at eater and you will find lots of information.

I'm so mad. I got this same e-mail response to an ad for a rental. Please tell me that their efforts will be thwarted by my super awesome MacBook Pro. I know Macs don't get hacked like PCs do. I checked out the site on the BBB and did all of that, so I went through with the stupid credit report. Please tell me I don't need to panic.

Help!

I was also nearly scammed by Stacy Low in regard to a 3BR/2.5BA home in San Mateo, CA that she would not divulge the address for but instead wanted me to create a "free" credit report from the link she provided that asked me for a CC number. I thought twice and replied back to her. She then told me the house was rented.
