seems like kulyash kaliyeva is back in action. there is now http://alberhomeservices.com/ in place. I checked their site and googled them but i didn't google kulyash kaliyeva... dunno why. [email protected] is the one who registered the site http://domains.whois.com/domain.php apparently Lorna Mackay is the one who's name it is in. this time they went via http://www.gumtree.com/. How did you guys fall for it?

Hi cl4ire, and welcome here. :)
Additionally alberhomeservices.com was registered in Jan 2010 and expires in Jan 2011, at a glance it looks to be a faker. Thanks for posting the info.

Hi,

I've also been scammed by these people. I have reported it to the police. If I have any news on the matter (which I doubt), I'll let you know.

The worst part is that I still need to find an accommodation in London for this summer and I don't know who should I trust anymore... I've found this website: http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/ Do you think it's legitimate? They offer some kind of "Rental guarantee": http://guaranteeuk.homeaway.com/ Do you think this is trustable?

Thanks

Both websites appear legitimate - have long registrations, real office addresses etc.

Just be careful & please feel free to ask if you have any doubts about a 'deal'.

Thanks a lot for your quick reply. I've googled the owner and she does exist, but she asks for full payment of the total stay (one month) in advance. Also, the price is more than reasonable, which makes doubt...

How does she want you to send the payment? If it's by WU or Moneygram - walk away!!

If you will send her name & address (by PM), we will check it out & be better able to advise. If you have an email from her, could you please send it & the headers.
by Firefly Fri Apr 09, 2010 12:24 pm
I've just sent you a PM. Thanks a lot for everything.
by Crispy Duck Fri Apr 09, 2010 1:07 pm
From what you sent by PM, it's a Credit Card scam!! They want you to give them your CC details over the phone (including the CVV number) & your account will be compromised!

Sorry - as explained in my PM, IT IS A SCAM!!

When asked for a phone number - they were very rude and angry that I would ask such a thing. Lucky I found your website as I was two minutes away from depositing money!! Also the number they finally gave started with 07.

These people have got to stop!

I've reported them to the police but I very much doubt they will be able to do anything about it. I don't know what else can be done...

By the way - thankyou for your website!

Hi atlasz8z, welcome to Scamwarners

While I share your enthusiasm for introducing these scammers to some nice men who could instill some justice but unfortunately, they will never actually meet anybody, the scammers in this case are operating from Africa and it's highly unlikely they have even been to the UK let alone travel to meet you there.

What you suggest about meeting the people face to face actually is good advice in any online transaction, while a small number of scammers actually will meet with their victims, there are few who will, for anybody wanting to rent a house from an online advertisment, insisting on being able to meet the real estate agent or owner would prevent the vast majority of scams.

In these scams it is typical for the scammer to give some kind of eexcuse as to why they can not meet you, if you ever find somebody offering any kind of excuse as to why they cant meet you face to face, you will need to thoroughly investigate and demand on being able to pay the money to an agent that you can actually see and talk to where you will have a lot more protectin from being scammed.

Also, a big thank you for providing this new website, if you could please post or PM any emails from them including the header and we should be able to get our site killers to get the website closed.

If you need some help with finding the header please let us know who you use for your own emails, yahoo/ hotmail/ gmail / outlook for example and we can give you specific advice
