Also got the same email from a craigslist apartment rental listing here in Los Angeles/SFV. Googled the senders email [email protected]
and was routed here.

Beware for any CL Listing that does not show proper contact info like a phone #. I tried to see if the listing was real and replied through my junk email account and got this same exact bluh bluh bluh...

Hi XXXXXX,

Great to speak with you. The unit you want is available. We thought we had the unit leased to someone that we gave a walk-through to today, but now it seems that they are no longer needing to move, so we need to keep searching. You were the second one to contact me.

I am sure you want the exact location of the place, but my husband doesn't want me to advertise the address for safety reasons. Last time we did that without being diligent, it was broken into and ripped up. As you can imagine, we want to avoid that! That is why we require you to confirm you recieved your updated credit report before we setup a tour. You will be responsible for cable, internet, and phone, if you decide to have these services. For the FIRST time, we are allowing pets at this property. The rental term is one year, but can be switched into a half year term if preferred. We require one month notice before moving out, as a courtesy.

When you're ready for a personal appointment, then please go to the link below and grab your credit report. We use this site since it's it gives you 3 scores. All you need to do is fill out the form and you get your report We are not concerned with any negative scores, it's more of a formality to ensure you have rental history. You can get your report by CLICKING HERE

Keep in mind that you only have to bring your report to the tour. We'll waive your security deposit if your score is above 540+.

Let me know when you have an updated version of your credit report. Then I'll schedule you for a walk through.

Thanks,
Jenny Robinson

Welcome to Scamwarners Strykher,

Thank you for the update.

A phone number will not stop the scam.

You will have to go inside the property and meet the owner/landlord to prevent this scam.

Do not send money to people you do not know.

If you have any questions please ask.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.

First of all the Scammer will have earned commission for each person paying for the Credit Check, and then he will have wanted you to send him money to have keys and documents to be couriered from abroad, or to send money to a family friend to show that you are financially sound and not a time waster . He would have asked you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union or Moneygram).

These transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected.
