Hi everybody!
First of all, thank you for all the information in this website, I found it really helpful, especially because at the moment I am in touch with a possible scammer. I am looking for an apartment in Utrecht, and I answered to an announcement found on kamertje. My story has a lot of things that are extremely similar to the ones I could read on the posts: the landlord is away for work, and he cannot come to the nederlands and make me see the apartment. He sent me beautiful pictures of his flat, he said he wants to rent it to a honest and tidy person.. He asked me to decide quickly because a lot of people ask for it. The fact is that I got in touch with him even a month ago (6 august), and now (4 sept) the apartment is still available! and even if I asked him several times, he didn't tell me his complete name and surname (I only know that his name is snjider, but he writes me from a email account registered with the name "camille roger").
Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd be pleased to know how this could end and what he will ask me to do. So at the moment I'm answering to his emails as I was very interested in his offer. He also told me that we could talk by skype.
If the hole story ends like the ones I read before, I mean, if he asks me to send money by western union or similia, and I can prove the address and so on is false, could I report this to some authority?
I mean, is there a way to stop these things and punish these people?
I'm a computer idiot, so I don't know if it's possible to get further information about him by means of of his skype address or his email account..I think it's not possible, but I'd be pleased if someone could explain me this..
Thanks!
