I am Miss Ruth Eastmond,me and my husband to be co-own the flat and we used to stay in the property but right now,we are currently in Wales due to a contract we have there but we can come down to the London for you to view anytime you want to and all bills are included as well as council tax and high speed internet connection.

Note that we have several properties around the world and we are well-to-do and that is why we are offering cheap rent to those in need of cheap and affordable rent especially students as we are not really after the money because we are aware that ''what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his soul''.

Also,we will like to know how many months you intend staying,your contact phone numbers and the country you are at the moment.You can decide to rent for as long as you want because when we are through with our contract and finally get back to London,we will not be moving back to our flat.

Thanks for your interest in my property once again.I can send a copy of my ID to you for the purpose of trust and i have attached the tenancy agreement form for you to fill and sign and send back to me.

I will in return sign after i must have received the details of the transfer for the refundable deposit.

I can reserve my property for you till you come to London because i
will like to let you know that there are some other interested
candidates but you are among the top candidates after reading through
your last email and I see You sound responsible but note that we will
only deal on a first come first serve basis.

If You really want my apartment,you will have to make part payment of £800 from a total of £1000 of the refundable security and damage deposit via WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER with your name as the sender's name and my name as the receiver's name so that i can reserve my flat for you and when we meet and sign all the remaining contracts,the balance of £200 can be payed.

Note that if you do not feel comfortable sending it to directly to my name,you have an option of giving somebody the money and have the person send the money to your name via western union but the receiver's address will be London,UK so that i can verify your transfer easily and when you arrive in London,you will be the one to pick up your money since your name will be the receiver's name.

Immediately after I confirm from WESTERN UNION that the deposit has
truly been sent by you, i can reserve my property for you and shelve
aside other interested candidates who may pay the deposit before you
if you are not fast enough.

Another reason for these actions is that I had a bitter experience
recently in the hands of one so-called interested candidate who made
me come down to London claiming he was interested in my property and
on getting to the London,i waited for him at the meeting spot and the
idiot ended up wasting my precious time and money coming to London
only for him to call me later on that he was sorry and that he will
not be able to rent my flat anymore because the person he was
expecting money from disappointed him so i have resolved that anybody
interested in my flat must show signs of seriousness by paying the
deposit before i travel down to the London and reserve my property for
such person.

At the moment,i am still trying to recover from the bitter experience
i had recently in the hands of that man so after making the
transfer,get back to me with the evidence that you have made the
deposit by scanning a copy of the WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER receipt
or simply send the details via email just in case you do not have
access to a scanner and after i have confirmed that the deposit has been truly made by you,i will issue
an official document confirming the booking to you to sign as an evidence of payment of the deposit.

The thief will tell you that you can rent his accommodation only if you can prove that you have genuine interest. He will ask you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union) to yourself or a member of the family to show that you have sufficient finances and that you are not a "time waster".

Another variation of this scam is that you need to send (by Western Union) money in order that the keys and other documents can be couriered to you

He will ask you to send him the transfer details.

Make no mistake ! Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected. You will never get to see the accommodation or your money again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
