Rental Scam - [email protected]

Hello I am new here and I registered because I wanted to share about a scam. I sent an email re a rental I was interested in and this is the reply I received. I felt something wasn't right and Googled a few things from the email and was lead to this site. I guess this scammer is doing this all over. I am in CA. On the bottom is the original rental listing that I responded to.

Thanks for your email.. The house is still available. I decided to rent the house because we are going to spend more time here in Midland Michigan, about 4 years.. Let me start by introducing myself.
I must confess that I am very new in this landlord business..However, My name is Tom Kelly . I own the house, Due to my job as a Medical Doctor, I works for American Red Cross Lutheran Hospital Donor Center, and now i have been transfer to Midland Michigan to work in a branch over here. We spent less time in the States so we could not get a hold on any Realtor to handle this rent issue, although it was when We knew how long we are going to stay in Midland Michigan that We decided to rent out the house. However, the initial plan was to sale out the house. which we tried, but sometimes the agents inflates the prize and it takes longer to sell so don't be surprised when you get to the home and see a for sale sign in the home. The utilities are included in the rent, because of this reason and more we need a responsible person that can take very good care of it as we are not after the money , but want it to be clean and for you to take it as if it were yours.

Just ignore the scammer. There is no reason to tell him anything.

Make sure you can physically go inside any rental and meet the landlord face to face.
