Hi,
This scammer is also operating in the Netherlands using Craigs List Amsterdam, also calling him/herself "Mannies". At that point I did not think it was a scam.

After the initial response email and I responded saying I was interested I received the following instructions, then I guessed it was a scam:
"Hi Mark,

Thanks for the reply and for the much interest you have toward the renting of the apartment.

As I have told you in my previous email that I am currently in London, I will be coming to meet with you on your move in date only if we both agree on our terms. The lease is available for short and long term rent, you won't be sharing the apartment with anyone. The proper care taking of the apartment is important to me and I hope I can count you for that?

Now that you are interested in renting my apartment and you will like me to reserve it for you...We have to proceed with the arrangement now.....You need to send me the details below for the contract.

1...Your full name and address.

2...Your date of birth.

3...Your move in date and move out date.

4...Your phone number.

5...A scan copy of your passport ID or any means of Identity.

I will be needing this details to prepare the lease contract as we need to legalize the rent by signing a contract after that you will proceed with the payment of one month rent and security deposit to confirm the reservation and an assurance towards the renting of the apartment and i will take permission from work and arrive in the city to fix you into the apartment on your moving in day.

After this a receipt will be given to you which you will have as evidence of payment with the lease contract as a legal tenant and you can easily move in.

My phone number is ‪+447087622068‬ and we can also have a Skype conversation, my Skype name is manniesworld01

I will be looking forward to receiving the contract details as soon as possible.

Regards,
Mannies"
