First of all i'm sorry to write you in english but i don't speak Portuguese. I just read your e-mail regarding my apartment
I bought this apartment for my daughter during her studies in Brazil, but now she's back home permanently, so I'm renting the place.
Before we go any further I would like to know a little something about you, like how many persons you intend to live in the apartment, and for how long.
The flat is exactly like in the pictures, fully furnished and renovated. Also, very important, the utilities (cold/hot water, electricity, wireless broadband Internet, digital TV, 1 parking spots, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, etc.) are INCLUDED in the price of R$ $2000/month. The security deposit is also 2 month R$ 4000, and you get it back, when you decide to leave the apartment (you will have to give me at least 30 days notice). As for me, you can rest assured that I will never ask you to leave the apartment. My daughter is building her life here, and i am too old to move to Brazil, so we won't disturb you.
You can use my furniture, or you can also use your own if you prefer. If you decide to use yours, you will have access to a very large and well ventilated cellar, where you can store my furniture.
The price you shall pay for one month of rent will be R$ 2000 + R$ 4000 security deposit = ( R$ 6000), including the condominium and IPTU with no extra taxes to pay.I must have one month rent + security deposit from you.You pay this money just for this time and every month you pay just R$ 2000 . The money, I want to recive it monthly to my bank account, so I hope it will be no problem for you to wire the money to my bank account. The apartment is ready for you, you will need only to receive the keys and the contract to check it, and see if you like it. Obviously we need a way to complete this deal, that will allow us to make sure we receive what we are after. I am not interested to make a lot of money from the rent as I am interested to find a tenant that will take good care of the property . Because didn't had time to find a trustworthy agent , don't have any friends in the area to send the keys .I found an alternate solution in order to close the transaction safe for the both of us ,a real estate company , it is an international real estate company called Airbnb.They will provide assistance in handling the payment and delivery of the Keys and Lease Agreement, Deposit request 1 month + (Security Deposit) . With this procedure you will be able o check the apartment before I receive the payment.

I want to confirm you that the apartment is like you see in the pictures.
I am so sorry but you can`t see the apartment before because i am in United Kingdom and the keys are here with me and i don`t have a nobody there in Brazil for show you the apartment, The Airbnb will contact you with all booking details when you want to take my apartment. we will do the booking trought them because they can protect us and offer us a secure booking.
I want to make 2 things very clear:
a. The 1st month of rent + security deposit is 100% refundable if you don't like the apartment (if you want to keep the apartment theAirbnb will give me the money as payment for the deposit month)
b. The payment is a simple formality and by paying you are not obliged to rent the apartment. You are just respecting the policy of a abroad rentals company.
Although I am sure you will love the apartment, it is good to know that you have this second option available.
First of all , I want to tell you that if you are ready to proceed with this transaction I will need to inform you the steps about how this service works.
You will have 2 days to inspect the apartment before your final decision to rent . I will pay the shipping costs.
This is how they work :
1.I need your full name and address in order to contact Airbnb and start the booking transaction;
2. After I will contact Airbnb , you you will receive booking invoice from Airbnb . After that , you will receive all information from Airbnb about delivery and payment .
(1 rent cost + 2 months deposit ) to the company . Airbnb will send you a delivery notification to let you know they have the Keys and the papers in their custody .
Also Airbnb will give you further instructions about the money deposit .
3.After the payment is confirmed the delivery process will start and when you will receive the keys, you will have 2 days inspection period before your final decision to rent .
4.If all is in order, you will instruct Airbnb to give me the money. Further rents will be sent directly to my bank account.
5.If you refuse to rent the apt , Airbnb will give you a full refund and you will give them back the keys and the contract.

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram, pre-paid credit card or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
