Hello,

How are you doing today? I have enclosed pictures of my apartment in the attached below and do get back to me asap if you are still interested in renting apartment or not. Looking forward to hear from you.

Thanks,
LISA.

I appreciate your quick response. My apartment has a 24 inch flat screen Tv on the wall/dvd/cd player, fully air conditioning including washing machine/ Dishwasher, telephone line, high speed internet facilities, balcony, Dryer, microwave, it also has a Private entrance, Private Bath, Phone jack, TV, Cable jack etc. There is also garage for your car park and garden.

More so, i just wanna bring it to your notice that there a lot of people here in looking for vacant space but they are not finding it easy cuz of the voluminous people looking for Room/flat. So they grab any vacancy they see...there are ways you can make a reservation for the vacant space if you want me to hold the room down for you and if you also want me to erase the advert online meaning to make it unavailable for people. So let me know your opinion asap.
NB:
I request that you send me a scanned copy of your Id for reference and if possibly copy of ID or INTL Passport or Driver's License as i need to know more about you before renting the property to you. And again will be very much appreciating if you could advice me of your work place and what you do for a living.

Room located at 8 King William Street, Adelaide 5000 SA
Apartments is Located in the middle of the city. Opposite Rundell Mall tram stop, and opposite Rundell Mall itself. 15 minutes walk to UniSA City West and City East campus, Uni Adelaide, UNITECH and Chinatown.

Rent for single room is $500Aud per month and Bond is $500Aud. All bills inclusive.

BOND IS REFUNDABLE AT YOUR EXIT.

Best Regards,
Lisa

Thanks for your swift response. You'll be living their by yourself, you can rent for as long as you can because I came here to have a long stay with my husband. I am only looking for someone who's tidy and clean so as to be able to maintain my apartment. I am presently in the UK (London) but that won't deprive me for letting my house to you. I came here to stay with my husband after gotting married to spend some months with him.

More so, I have already make all the necessary arrangement for the documents and the payment if i see anybody that is really very serious of renting and in which I would give you reference number to the FedEx office, where you would get the keys to my apartment, because without the reference number, nobody can get the keys except someone i give it to and i would be called to confirm first. Let me know what you think.

Waiting to read from you.

Regards,
LISA.

I appreciate your quick response. I would like you to make reservation for the room, so that you can have a place to arrive at, the processes are not much, you only need to sign a document, then you need to have some documents to yourself as proof of assurance, then we proceed to the payment level. I would be willing to make available a scanned copy of my driver's license, international passport and my certificate of occupancy for your own record.

Get back to me with your details below so as to prepare your Lease Agreement:-

Your Full name:
Present Contact address:
Your phone number:
Date of birth:
Move in date:
Your intended duration of stay:

Waiting to read from you.

Regards,
LISA.

I have confirmed this to be a scam as all the details even the emails word for word have been reported on another website as a scam. Fortunately I did not go so far as to send them any money or bank details however they do have a photocopy of my passport so they have my name, date of birth, signature and passport number.

They do not have my address either here in Australia or my home address back in the UK.

I just want to know how they can use the information I have given them, if they're likely to and who i might be able to talk to about resolving all of this.

Any advice at all would be so fantastic, I am understandably worried and annoyed at my own stupidity.

Welcome to Scamwarners coldwar

You say that the scammer has a copy of your passport:

Please contact your local Police and explain what has happened - there is a very good chance that the scammer will open an e-mail address with a name very similar to your own and use the image of your passport to convince people that he is in fact you, and if someone looses money it might be you the authorities come looking for in the first instance. -- Doing this the Police will already have a record of the events.
