Before coming down to show you the apartment.I will need to be sure of your readiness and capability i.e if you will be able to make a transfer for month rent plus security deposit (£100+£500=£1500).Therefore,I will want you to make a transfer of 1 month rent plus security deposit which is(£100+£500=£1500) by going to the closest Money gram outlet or western union that you know is more nearer with a friend or someone close to you and make the transfer as your being the sender and your friend as the receiver or any of your family members and you can also make them as the sender and you be the receiver so that when you arrive for the viewing and you are ok with the flat then we proceed by signing the contract/tenancy agreement form and handover the keys to you and we go to the closest money gram outlet or western union closer to my flat to pick up the money and you pay me hand to hand as i will be ready to show you the flat and have your receipt and tenancy agreement form ready as soon as i get the receipt of the transfer you made to friends name or relative. from the money gram post office or western union that show that you really make the transfer and it is available to be pick up by you or your friend and have got the receipt in hand to prepare the tenancy agreement form .

I do not want you to have the feeling that I'm asking for money before you see what you are renting because you are not sending the money to my name.

JUST TAKE THAT ADDRESS TO WESTERN UNION WHICH IS ADDRESS OF THE FLAT TO MAKE THE TRANSFER TO AS THE RECEIVER ADDRESS IN THE UK. AS SOON AS YOU GET THIS DONE EMAIL ME OR CALL ME ON +447024099945 AND AS SOON AS YOU SCAN ME THIS RECEIPT I WILL FORWARD TO MY LAWYER AND HE CAN PREPARE THE 2ND TENANCY AGREEMENT FORM WHICH I WILL BE PREPARING IN YOUR NAME.
The main reason why you need to get this transfer done is simply because the copy of the transfer receipt will be needed to be attached to the tenancy agreement form which my lawyer will be preparing and i will be coming down with,we can meet Friday evening or Saturday, if you can get it done by tomorrow morning You will need to scan the copy of the deposit slip to me as a prove.And to let you know.I will want you get back to me if you are ok with this arrangement so that we can proceed.I will be looking forward to hearing from

The thief will tell you that you can rent his accommodation only if you can prove that you have genuine interest. He will ask you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union) to yourself or a member of the family to show that you have sufficient finances and that you are not a "time waster".

Another variation of this scam is that you need to send (by Western Union) money in order that the keys and other documents can be couriered to you

He will ask you to send him the transfer details.

Make no mistake ! Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected. You will never get to see the accommodation or your money again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Thanks for your post. I almost fell for it. In my case, the email the person was using was [email protected] Maybe by posting this, someone else can be safe as well. I found "his apartment" ad at Craiglist with the title: £130 / 1br - 66ft² - Comes fully furnished One bedroom apartment.
