Hello,

The rent is 600€ per month (including electricity, water, gas costs and TV-Internet connection). The deposit is 1.200€. The total amount to pay is 1.800€ (1 month rent and the deposit).
I am ready to send you the keys so that you visit and check the apartment. The delivery of the keys and the lease (signed by me) will be made by Airbnb (airbnb. com), they will also help us as a third party to make the transaction. Their rental process service give a protection for both of us.

Caution - The money must be sent to Airbnb before you get the keys. If you agree send me your data to start the transaction. After I receive the confirmation from Airbnb that you made the transfer, I will send the parcel with the rental contract and the apartment key. I will send the tracking number to Airbnb and to you. If you do not agree I will not start the transaction. If you don't like the apartment, Airbnb will refund the transfer to your bank account. If you decide to rent it, Airbnb will send the transfer to my bank account.

If you want to pay in advance for 6 months or 1 year, I can make a discount. For 6 months you will pay 3.000€ and for 1 year you will pay 5.500€.

To start the transaction I need the following information:

Full name:
Street:
City:
Postal Code:
Country:
Mobile number:
How much do you want to pay: 1.800€, 3.000€ (for 6 months) or 5.500€ (for 1 year)?

I'll pay for the services of the agency, so there is no cost to you.
Thanks and have a nice day!

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram, pre-paid credit card or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
