Rental Scammer - [email protected]

I am so happy to read back from you. Firstly i want you to know that the apartment is still available for rent. Below are some vital information you need to know about my apartment. It cost 450euro monthly together with all bills such as water, electricity,internet connection,water available, microwave oven,fridge,gas e.t.c and also a 500euro security deposit payment which is refundable while packing out of my apartment if there is no damage or loss of my properties.

The apartment is situated at 406 Avenue de la couronne1050 Ixelles,Brussels, Belgium and it is close to its metro station,my apartment is spacious, it is about 70sqm in size and a room is about 30sqm. there are restaurant and public transport all around and it's 8mins walking distance to the supermarket, so it's located in a very nice and safe area in Brussels.

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union payment to a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Damn I got the exact mail while I was looking at the apartment in Switzerland :s exact words, only differ in place

I'm sorry but they both sound like scams Ufara.

The term 'Council Tax is a UK term and not applicable to Switzerland. Scammers know most about UK property and when referring to foreign properties they use the same terms, showing that they have no local knowledge. He also appears not to know about TV licence payments either.

When he mentions that he's in the UK he is giving you a reason why he can't show you round the apartment, which avoids telling you that he doesn't own it and couldn't show you around a property he's never seen.

Away in the USA on missionary work ? - scammer.

Forget him.

Damn, I hope they soon get better jobs so they will stop scamming!

The house is located at Avenue Wendt 41 1203 Geneva switzerland

The room is a good size 11x14 aitch a big walk in closet. It is a four
bedroom duplex but only 2 rooms is available for rent. The condo has
been recently renovated (new kitchen, bathrooms, trim and paint) it
feels very new and very clean.

I have all the amenities you could possibly want, Gym, in unit W/d,
D/W, all new stainless steel appliances, Internet in every room as
well as wireless, 32" plasma in the family room, etc.
I am a 32yrs,I am doing my PHD and working here, and the house belongs to my parents
who are currently in the UNITED KINGDOM.

The rent again per month is $ 500, which includes all utilities to
be paid just once which covers the whole of utilities for the duration
of your stay and a security deposit of $ 450, which is refundable at
the end of your stay in the room.

The purpose of this money is in case of damages (either by you or any
of your guests). Your money will be refunded in full to you at the end
of your stay in the room if there is no damage to the room or the
fittings.

The transport system is quiet very good as it is located in the heart
of GENEVA and its very close to the train station which makes it
just few minutes to get to the city central and all is just located
within a few minutes walk from the house. The house is also close to
the main shopping malls, groceries, and market and jewelry store all
for you to purchase your basic needs.

Your quickest response shall be highly appreciated to determine your
interest as a flat mate, because there's some other potential renter's
interested in my flat but i am considering you based on priority and
honesty. Attached to this email is pictures of the apartment for your
