Thanks for your interest in our Advert, my Wife and I co-own the Unit and we used to stay in the property but right now we are currently out of town due to a contract but we can come up for you to view anytime you want.

Good to hear from you again, There is absolutely no problem having the property reserved for you upon your arrival and we can set up a viewing next weekend but I have also received emails from other candidate who are also showing good interest towards renting the property and I will only deal on first come first serve basis!..Though you are the very first person to contact me about the property so I will suggest that you have the property secure now by making a down payment (security deposit $1,000) pending our meeting in order to reserve and rent the property for nobody but you and the first month rent will be paid after viewing and signing of contract only if the property is ideal by you after the viewing as it is exactly as pictures I sent to you!. Please note the deposit is refundable if the property is not okay by you i have sent you the copy of my agreement form for you to acknowledge.

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram, pre-paid credit card or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.
Sounds safe. It's not!
At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union, MoneyGram or Bank Transfer payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.
In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.
All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.
If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
