This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company (see below).

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union payment to a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

However, if you are ready to rent the property now, then that will not be a problem but i will advice you due to a responsible like you, to be able to afford the month rent and the security deposit. Also i would like to send the following document to you via the DHL to the address you send to me and the tracking number will be sent to you so that you can possible occupy my property,Pls once again,i am giving you this on trust and do not disappoint me and i promise you that,you will love the property..Also the months rent will be send to me here in United Kingdom,London through Western Union Money Transfer outlet.

I quite understand your plight about sending money to someone you haven't seen before but i want you to know that i am a Christain"BORN AGAIN" to be precise and to ripp someone off his/her money is a sin for me and i cannot do such a thing. I really understand how you feel and if i happen to be in your shoe i can also think in that direction because of the rate of scam going on here and there. Is not that easy to trust someone on internet this days again. But i want you to know that there are still a lot of good people out there to trust. As for me i am trustworthy and honest man and i always stand on my word always.

I know how hard is it for someone to earn just $1 nowadays because the money doesn't come easily and that is why i made it fair in putting the rent up for $800 for someone to be able to afford every month.

To make things much easier for you,since you are not comfortable sending the whole $1200 at once,you can send the damage deposit which is just $400 and send the first month rent after you have received the keys and documents.

I want you to know that am only doing this for you to know that i really would like you to be the person to occupy the apartment and also for you to know that you are going to be receiving the keys and documents of the apartment.

I am doing this based on trust i have in you that you are going to be taking good care of the apartment.I look forward to hearing from you with the payment confirmation for the deposit. So that i can send out the keys to your present door step.
