Thanks for your response regarding your interest in having my apt for rent.The apt is much available for now, what happened is that initially I wanted to sell this apt but my wife suggested that we should rent it out to a responsible person, because i am now currently in West Africa now with my family where we work as a volunteer with the Missionary and both me and my wife we have the keys right here with us. I will like to inform you that it was due to my transfer that makes us to leave the apt and also want to give it out for rent and looking for a responsible person that can take very good care of it as we are not after the money for the rent but want it to be clean at all time and the person that will rent it will have to take it as if it were his/her own..So for now We are here in West Africa our new home and also with the keys of the apt.

We are trying to look for an agent that we can give this document before we left but could not see and we are as well we don’t want our apt to be used any how in our absent that is why we took it along with us here, We are only willing to give the apt out to a lovely and caring person only, so if you know you cannot give the apt the neatness it deserves please don’t contact me, But if you promise to always take good care of the apt get back to me on how you could take care of our apt or perhaps experience you have in renting a home. I Showed my wife your application form and she was so happy as well and she told me that she can see it in your words that you will be able to take good care of it for us, and am so happy to hear from you that you will take good care of it as well. This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram, pre-paid credit card or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam.
