I am the property owner and my name is Nicholas Lan Michael, Actually I did own and resided in the house with my wife until my urgent transfer which brought us down to California for a program called SAVING THE LESS PRIVILEGES CHILD PROGRAM with DAVE THOMAS FOUNDATION (www.davethomasfoundation.org). The program is taking place in three major states,Kentucky, new york & Virginia. We will be staying in California for at lest 4 years or more and that is why we have made up our minds to put up the house for rent to whom ever that will take good care of it and we intend getting a bigger house again as soon we are done with the program.
As it has been a tough decision for us,we require a very nice,experienced and genuine family to help keep the bond that we have with our home.Our house is intact with all amenities intact and working in perfect conditions,I would like to emphasize that you will find your new home enjoyable and you will definitely feel at home.Also the neighborhood is quite at peace and welcoming. We have a cordial relationship with the neighborhood as it is a neighborhood where,everyone keep to themselves go about their business without interference from anybody and we expect that as you move in.Please keep to yourselves as this Our (home) that will become yours will provide all the warmth and joy that you require.Endeavor as much as you can to keep the home tidy,the amenities in perfect working conditions and treat this home just like you would treat your own house.
I did not entrust the place in the care of any agent or anyone because I want to deal directly with the tenant myself because of the last experience I had with my previous tenant. I also tried to look for a person that I could believe and trust to give the keys before leaving but could not find any as a matter of urgency. And I don't want the place to be misused in my absence that is why I took the keys along with me and renting this place will give you access to the property and you won' t have no one to share anything with.

N.B: I want you to know that we never had an intention of renting out the home until we got down here when my wife got sick so we had to rent out the home so we can use the monthly rent as a source of income to carter for my wife and the kids,so should in case we had an intention of renting the home then we would have drop down the keys with someone to handle the rental on our behalf but since we don't then that is why we had to bring the keys over here,so we will be mailing out the keys to you as soon as we finalize the rental processes OK?

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram, pre-paid credit card or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
