This person asks for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a transfer either via bank, Western Union or MoneyGram to him, a friend or a family member.
Sounds safe. It's not!
At other times, this person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or Moneygram with the promise that they will send the keys through a courier company.
In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.
If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Now i really understand your concern But allot of people have deceive me with this same story, I will reserve the room for them and they will never show up, If you are truly interested in renting the room, you will have to book for it in advance, I provide you with a copy of my international passport and my late fathers certificate of ownership for you to have the true identity of me and for you to know that your money is coming to a safer hand, if that is your fear.
I have seen people who told me that they will pay upon seeing the room , promising me that money is not the problem or that their company is paying or they are financially buoyant to pay the rent and then i took permission to be absent from the conference, when we met and after seeing my apartment, they definitely fall in love with it but they don't have money to pay, i don't know how people are so unserious and take pleasure in wasting other peoples time, they will start pleading with me and telling me all their problems as regards finances and how they cannot pay until a certain period of time which of course will make me compassionate and i would be forced to help a fellow human being of accommodation at my own detriment.
For you to have more guarantee and security ...I will want to transfer the payment to our family lawyer via bank account, this way your money is safe and traceable . What do you think about that ?
I will like to have the following information.
1. Your full name and present home address.
2. Your moving-in and moving-out date.
3. A scanned copy of your passport.
