I responded giving very little information because I didn't feel as though this was a legit e-mail. To my surprise he responded to my e-mail and told me that I was who he had chosen as his tenant...considering I didn't give him my full name, occupation, move in date or even if I had a car, I knew instantly it was a scam.
I responded back to his acceptance e-mail (of course he wanted me to use western union to send him first months rent in order for him to DHL the keys to me from Africa) I responded with:

Thanks so much for posting your experiences everyone…. I just received the exact same email - I thought it sounded too good to be true, and when he goes on about leaving to work in west africa it was a huge red flag.
