Room for Rent and other rental scams

In looking for a vacation rental property, we found a property through Stephen Perness at [email protected]. A website that was linked to the email that we received was http://www.fasthomereservation.com. For several reasons, red flags came up, such as using a bank deposit or wire transfer. These are unusual for this type of transaction. Also, the cost of the rental was out of line for other properties that we saw. As a result of that, we googled Stephen Perness and we were directed to the Scamwarners website. There is another email address, [email protected], that seems to be the same group. Another bit of information is that the name of Ray Parsons was given for the bank account at Wells Fargo in Powell, WY for the deposit. I hope that this information is useful to you.

Here are some email streams that might be useful.

I'm also victim of a rental-scam.

I wanted to rent a flat in Paris und found one in Craigslist. The offer was made by funholidayhomes.org and it seemed to be a quite professionel website. A person named Kenneth Price answered my mail and told me to sent 500 € to the bank account oft the flat's "owner" Pasi Olavi Pitkonen (Danske/Sampo Bank, IBAN: FI4480002236147665, BIC: DABAFIHH).
Then this homepage disappeared and my money also....

Welcome Schmorli!
I'm so sorry you lost money to this criminal. And it's great you took the time to warn others. :=)
Do you still have any email addresses the scammer used? They would help a lot.
