I also did some research and found information from below websites regarding the scammers activities and they even hosted their own website before.

Most of the posting are originally written in Chinese for apparently posted as Room for Rent in Taiwan but can be read through using Google translation bot.
Some also provided the list of email address who are sending emails in same the tactics so worth dig in.
My fear is that hey now found it much easier to do the operations because plenty of foreigners in Philippines and Filipinos also can be communicate in English without them worried about not being able to write emails in Chinese...

I found it more interesting by the info from below website but well.. IP address can be routed and could be all are fake name address etc,

Lot's of people victimized by those kind of scammer. And seems it is operated in much larger scale. And there might be copy cat scammer too.
Please read through below as well and if you or your friend, relatives found something TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE DEAL for the vacation etc, do the research, contact to Airbnb BEFORE MAKING ANY PAYMENT and NEVER GIVING YOUR PERSONAL DATA AND CREDIT CARD INFO to make sure not to fell in to their victim.

While myself being Airbnb host and guest as well, it is a bit compromised and sad situation for all of us.
Hope Airbnb also can come up with better solution and security platform for this new type of scammer.
And we also should NEVER TRANSACT THROUGH OUTSIDE OF THEIR LEGITIMATE WEBSITE URLs because that's the only way you can be protected.
