Clarra Coles claims to have a lawyer by the name of "Victorianne C. Maxwell" - [email protected] who is either the scammer or an accomplice and not a real lawyer.

Thanks for the reply and the sincere interest you have in my flat.I
want you to know that my flat is unresistible you are going to like it
when you have it, My flat is fully furnished in and out and also has
garden and there is parking space in my flat,I have spoken with my
lawyer concerning the interest you have in my flat and we both agreed
to have you in my flat.

However it is unfortunate that my past bitter experience of inviting
people to come and view or reserve my flat without any form of
confirmation of their readiness and financial ability and not keeping
up to time as at when scheduled, has brought about great loss to me as
I have traveled all the way from Ireland to take some interested
candidates round my flat because that's where i work with Companies
Registration Office..I do hope you understand my point of view.

Some tenants do not have the money to pay the rent and yet they
disturb the landlord to arrange a viewing with them and at the end
they do not meet up with the appointments time which has led to the
dismissal of some landlords in office by their employers.

Henceforth my lawyer and i have decided to carry out a simple test on
financial ability of the tenants before coming for viewing. You will
need to transfer at least 2 weeks rent and security deposit which is £
500 through Money Gram money transfer agent, You will make the
transfer with your name as a sender's name and someone close to you as
a receiver (Partner/Friend) and that means the money is still in your
care.

After you might have gotten the transfer done,You will need to Scan
the receipt and your reference letter to me and if you do not have
scanner, you may write out the details on the receipt as it's stated
on the transfer receipt to me and will send it to my lawyer to verify
if it's truly valid and available for pick up in your receiver's
custody (friend/partner),

After my lawyer confirms the transfer valid, i will get back to you so
that you can as well tell your Receiver to pick up the money and then
you can Schedule convenient day for the viewing on and i will refund
back to you the cost of transfer when we meet.

Kindly let me know when you are going to do the transfer so that i can
schedule my journey to London from my place of work in Ireland for the
viewing with you ASAP.

Regards
Mrs Coles

This person asks for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment either to him, your friend or a family member.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, this person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or Moneygram with the promise that they will send the keys through a courier company.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
