Subject: Viewing of my flat.....

Patricia,

Thanks for your interest once again in my apartment. I own this flat in question, and it is
located in Mayfair as earlier shown. I and my wife now live in Scotland .

I would like to know the following:
-HOW MANY OF YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE IN MY FLAT?
-DO YOU HAVE PET?
-WHERE ARE YOU FROM ORIGINALLY?
-DO YOU HAVE ANY REFERENCE IN LONDON? I MEAN FRIENDS OR RELATIVES.

All this are necessary to know the kind of person I will be giving my apartment to. I have
had some bad experience with tenants in the past so will ask me to come down for viewing and at the end of the day when I get to the tube station where the appointment is meant to
be,they end up not showing up or give me call of their inability to pay the rent and
deposit.

A German Lady once told me that she was coming to London for a modeling job and she would be needing my flat when I asked for payment, she said she would pay £1000 more that I should get my rent and send the rest to her even before she gets to London with cheque, after I got the money, the cheque bounced and I had to pay for all this money.Ever since my experience, I and my Lawyer came to a conclusion that whoeverwill want us to come for viewing MUST show that he or she has the Money at hand.

In proving this, you'll have to pay the refundable deposit TO ANY FAMILY OR FRIEND OF YOUR CHOICE via the western union. Then you will send me a copy of the receipt of the transaction for confirmation and ascertaining the fact that you hand the cash at hand and capable of taking my apartment. After I confirm the transfer has been made,I will get back to you telling you to instruct whoever the receiver (YOUR FRIEND) is to pick up your money. As soon as this is done I will come down to London for viewing. Also am aware of the cost of transfer which I will refund as soon as we meet in London for viewing.
Hope you understand.

Kind regards,

Tom Nobil.

This person asks for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment either to him, your friend or a family member.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, this person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or Moneygram with the promise that they will send the keys through a courier company.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
