Hi Darkdog,

The site tucadam.com itself looks real to me. However, it looks like anyone can place ads on that site, and of those ads it is much harder to verify whether they are real or not - I don't know which precautions the site owner takes to verify the claims. I can only tell you to be careful, and to watch out if they request money in advance; especially when they suggest Western Union or Moneygram. Another classic pointer to scams are +4470 telephone numbers.

Other than that, watch out for people that want you to pay in advance and come up with excuses why you can't meet the owner or view the apartment before paying.

I'd confirm Michael's opinion Darkdog, and point out that the largest sites on the internet to look for apartments, Gumtree and Craigslist, are filled with scams so it's not an unusual situation.

I also found that the address in Italy where this company claims to be located is also advertised as the business place of an electrician which may mean nothing, but could point to it not being very professional. I also found a site that showed that 60% of page visits to the site came from India which seemed peculiar but again, may mean nothing.

The general rules is to be very cautious in any deals for holiday or apartment rentals as there are so many frauds on the internet.

Whenever payment is requested by Western Union you're dealing with a scammer
