It seems I have been had by this one. Just had a feeling and my friend did some digging and found this post. Feel so stupid have booked so many apartment etc over the years. £400 down the drain and I guess with no way to get it back. The bank account was with the same bank I use so going to see if bank can do anything to help. Any suggestions anyone? Other than just accept you've been had!

Does anyone know whether a valid registered co number will help. This company number is registered on Companies House database.

^^^ Hi. Welcome to ScamWarners. Sorry to see that you lost out.

It's usual for the scammers to say that they are registered but use
the name of a legitimate company (or a name that's similar).

The website is now obsolete thanks to our site killers and I'm sure that they will have checked every avenue in finding evidence to take the site down.

If you wish to post the name of the registered company that you have found, we will be able to confirm. You never know, you may have found a link that was missed.

If you post details of the bank account used by the scammer or his accomplice we can make sure that it is flagged up to the authorities and it'll act as a warning to anyone performing a Google search.

Of course you should never pay money to an entity claiming to be a company into a personal bank account. That's not how companies function.

No company bank account = no company.

Hi,
I am afraid that I have been cheat by Alex Willsdeen (Property Manager), as I rent an apartment in Bloomsbury (London) for next summer. This person confirmed me the avalaibility for the dates I choosed for beeing in that Apartment. So that, he told me to make a bank transfer to an account in Barclays Bank, that I did the 21st of March. The amount I paid was 400 euros, and by now I haven't received any confirmation of the booking. The only information I had from Alex Willsdeen is that he did not receive the money, but the bank confirmed me that the money arrived the 23st of March.

BE CAREFULL with

I would urge anyone who has lost money to these scammers to make a police report whether you are in the UK or abroad.

This is part of a well organised gang of scammers whose methods make their scams readily identifiable and the more complaints that are registered will ensure that the scale of their operation is known by the police, and they'll allocate resources to deal with them accordingly. We can only do so much in passing information to the authorities and doing our own research but without reports being made, the police may choose not take action, as it appears that there is no problem.

I feel sure that they are UK based but with contacts abroad and, though we can assist in getting bank accounts closed and collecting information, it's making official complaints that will put pressure on the authorities to take action.

Hi

I just transferred money last friday for bloomsbury apartment with the same account and it was in www.mayfair-holidaylodge.co.uk.
Please help me out to get the money back. Should I contact my bank about it?

Unfortunately, if it is the same account, it is going to be a scam. Contact your bank, and you will probably want to file a report with the police, the sooner the better. Unfortunately, most people do not get their money back, but the sooner you flag it, the better the odds something can be done.

If you have any emails from the domain you mentioned, please post them here, with the headers (remove your own information, though). If that is another website or email domain that hasn't been identified and reported yet, our site killers will want to work on getting it killed as soon as possible.
