Room for Rent and other rental scams

I'm new to this site and I stumbled upon this site because I was searching phrases a potential scammer was sending me. I'm subleasing a place on craigslist and got this reply-

Hi,
I need the sublet/room shared space you advertised on craigslist. What
is the price per month and date of its availability.
Thanks

- I put the price in my add so it didn't really make sense. But if it was someone that could take my lease I told them in an e-mail back to them. Then I got this 2nd reply-

Thanks for the response,am okay with the price and explanation

For the payment that is not a problem at all. My boss will be
responsible for all my payment all I have to do is to confirm the
amount of the room including the utilities and then get it sent to him
including the information of the person which the payment will be
issued to. So all I require of you is for you to send me your:
FULL NAME:
FULL ADDRESS:
ZIP CODE:
CITY:
STATE:
PHONE:
EMAIL:
So that I can forward it to my uncle because my boss will be paying
for the rent, my flight and some other things so all you have to do is
that as soon as you receive the check he will send. You will deduct
your rent fee and the utilities from it and then get the rest back to
my flight manager so that my ticket can be booked. Waiting to hearing
from you. I will want all this information for quick payment asap pls.
Thanks.

-after that it sounded too fishy. I posted different parts of the sentences on google to see what I came up with and some similar things were on this site. I just felt like posting this could help some other people find out about this particular username and e-mail that is being used for this kind of scam.

Hi,
I just got an email using the same text. But I just got a check in the mail. What should I do with the check?

Hi Limalicious, with the cheque, it will bounce if you put it in your bank, and your bank will not be happy with you.

Either, write FAKE across it, and frame it and hang on the wall,

Or take it to your bank, tell them you suspect it is fake, and leave it with them

Or, just use it to start a fire with.

It can take 6 months for the cheque to bounce, which is why scammers love sending them out, and urging you to transfer the proceeds as soon as possible, without waiting for confirmation that it is real.

When it does bounce, you will be liable for any money drawn against the cheque, and depending on where you live, you could be charged with money laundering at the worst, passing fake cheques at least.
