This person asks for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment either to him, your friend or a family member.
Sounds safe. It's not!
At other times, this person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or Moneygram with the promise that they will send the keys through a courier company.
In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.
If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Thanks for your swift response, the main rules was to keep the property clean and tidy always there wont be any problem for me traveling up to London from Wales for you anytime that is convenient for you to view our flat. But before that will be done i have to be sure of your capability and seriousness you viewing and renting of the property because we have had several cases like, Having a deal for viewing and fail to turn up is either they cannot afford the rent or the security deposit been required and also I had a bitter experience recently in the hands of one so-called interested candidate who made me come up to London claiming he was interested in our property and on getting to the London,I waited for him at the meeting spot and the idiot ended up wasting my precious time and money coming up to London only for him to call me later on that he was sorry and that he will not be able to rent my flat anymore because the person he was expecting money from disappointed him.
I and my lawyer have resolved that any interested candidate must show a sign of commitment firstly before i travel up to London for any person who is interested in renting our property by transferring the refundable security deposit to someone close to him or her in London just to confirm his or her capability of funds and showing up for flat viewing and also renting of the flat as we do not want any form of bitter experience regarding the property anymore this is simply what you need to do make the transfer of the refundable security deposit to someone close to you (maybe to your partner) in London making such person's name as the receiver while you make use of your own name as the sender and by doing this it means you have to come along with that person to view our flat and if you are okay with it after viewing then we can sign contract while you and that your friend can easily walk up to the nearest western union close to the apartment to receive the funds and pay me in person after all the necessary documents has been signed.
After the transfer has been made email me the scan copy of the transfer slip for confirmation and a copy of your reference.Once this procedure has been followed then we can fix time and where to meet up in London to proceed flat viewing.
You don't need to be worried about the transfer charges, I will personally refund it back to you,I'm doing this just to make sure everything is perfect before securing the room for you and travel up to London as i don't want any bitter experience again regarding to our flat.
I look forward to read from you.
Regards,
Rachel and Andrew.
