Room for Rent and other rental scams

Attention,

I am so glad reading back from you knowing we shall soon finish the
renting protocols and affirm you as my tenant.

Terms and Conditions:
1. You need to read and understand and sign an tenancy lease contract
agreement form that will guarantee you that the room has been reserve for you.

2. The Security deposit and the first month rent has to be paid to myself
through western union money transfer in London or by bank transfer to
my family lawyers account.


I have received this response. I think it can be an scam.


For Tenancy Contract Preparation I will like you to send me the following details:
- Your full name?
- Current address?
- Cell Phone?
- Work Phone?
- Home Phone?
- Your move in date?
- Your move out date?
- Is the rent fees and security deposit available?
- Do you smoke or drink?
- A scanned copy of your identity for verification of identity?

Hello Anita,

This is most definately a scam. There isn't a single legitimate company in the world that does business through Western Union. Could you please post everything you have about these scammers such as email adress, website, telephone numbers, etc.? I strongly advise you to just stop all contact and to delete all future emails - he will soon understand you aren't falling for the scam and will move on. Thank you for posting. :)

Hello Anita,
this certainly looks like a scam - Western Union is the scammers' favourite mode of payment. The bank account might be owned by an accomplice.
To better analyse the issue I'd need the email address of the scammer and the header of the email which usually helps to find out where the email was actually sent from (please delete your name and address before posting).
Do you have a phone number of the so-called flat owner?
