Thanks for your email response, i am so excited you are interested in my Apartment which i am giving out for rent. Actually the apartment is still very much available for rent. I resided in the apartment with my only daughter. before i relocated to Philippines, due to my new contract. Let me start by saying a little about me, I am a contractor engineer and deals with constructing of builds, self employed and the owner of my own company that's why i moved so i am looking to rent this unit out for a long term purpose and i is available for immediately moving

The apartment is available for $550 per month and damages deposit $550 including the utilities which i think is not too much, and I am renting out just 1 of the room and that will enable you access to the rest of the apartment and property located at: 217 W 16th St New York, NY 10011, USA, i just need someone with an open heart, love and clean to occupy the home and put all my worries off concerning the maintained of the apartment. Since i am not residing there again. As i told you earlier in the apartment listing. I will like you to drive by to the building today to view the exterior of the building for you to know where the apartment is located and get back to me so i can forward you the interior picture and any other thing.....

Thanks for taking your time in writing me and hope to hear back from you
Regards

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
