Thanks for your interest in my apartment. I am a professional piano/music theory teacher, I'm easy going and friendly. I like Music and have deep interests in travelling. I respect every religion and love to hang around with people and i am definitely not a trouble maker and very helpful in nature. I am currently living in Philippines and I will be here for long that is why am renting out my apartment. The apartment is located at: 316 Kathleen Street, Guelph Ontario, N1H 4Y9 Canada

The apartment is a modern 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment and is strategically located in a very cool and lovely environment with five (5) appliances including dishwasher with in-suite laundry and plenty of storage space and parking space, professional and mature neighbors ensure peaceful living arrangements. Freshly painted and immaculately clean.

The rent per month is $800 monthly including utilities and $400 for damage deposit. I will like you to drive by to the building at your convenience to view the exterior of the building for you to know where the apartment is located and get back to me so that I can forward you the full interior pictures to you to have an idea how beautiful and spacious the inside looks.

Waiting to hear from you soon,
Regards

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Hi

Congratulations!!! Your application form as been approved. I really appreciate your willingness in renting my place and i promise you that you will never regret taking my place. I have taken time to go over your application form and i am so impressed and can't stop having the feeling that my place will be well kept by you as promised, and moreso something came to my mind and i felt it'll be better to discuss it with you. Well i'm sure i'll have you wondering what it is...LOL. Anyways its not something scary or that serious, i just wanted to know if you could provide me with one or a couple of your picture so as for me to have an idea who my new tenant is and how you look like (no offense).
I'm willing to keep this as a means of recognition pending the time we'll meet as this will even make it easier for me to quickly identify you by the time i come for a visit in the nearest future. Also in the attachment you'd find a recent picture of me. I wish you all the best and good fortunes as you move into my apartment.

The total cost for you to move into the apartment is $2000. $1600 for first and last month rent and $400 for the damage deposit which is refundable at the end of the lease if nothing is damaged in the apartment. I would be sending the apartment key's and documents to you via EXPRESS SERVICE to the address you filled in the application form and the shipment tracking number will be emailed to you so that you can track it to know the exact time the package will be delivered to you the next day.. Below are the document I will be shipping to you once i have received the payment from you.

Here are the contents of the document.

Thanks for your mail. I quite understand your plight. I want you to know that I am a Christian "BORN AGAIN" to be precise and to ripped someone off his/her money is a sin for me and i cannot do such a thing. I know how hard is it for someone to earn 1$ nowadays because the money doesn't come easily and that is why I make it fair in putting the rent for $800 for someone to be able to afford every month. To make things much easier for you, since you are not comfortable sending the whole $2000 at once, you can send the damage deposit which is $400 and send the first month rent after you have received the key's and documents,am only doing this for you to know that I really would like you to be the person to occupy the apartment and also for you to know that you are going to be receiving the keys and the documents of the apartment.

I am doing this based on trust I have in you that you are going to be taking good care of the apartment. I look forward to hearing from you with your final decision.

This is a scam.. I know the area. They do not ask for deposit as such. Just 1st. & last months rent. They do not allow in-suite laundry!! Nor does the apartments allow or even have room for a dishwasher unless it is countertop. There is your tipical 2 car parking..that's it! It's not a quiet area.. the building is right by a very busy main st. The vunerable has reason to choose such deals but do not choose to be scammed. It isn't any wonder that the suicidle rate climbs!! So many different scams out there and these scammers have no morals to be found!!!! I see in some replies on web sites that some people say to the party that posted being scammed.. that they are stupid to let them selves be taken in like that! When a person is terribly vunerable for what ever reason.. it is terrible to cut them down. One never know what life can bring when we least expect it no matter how well we keep our eyes open!! And as for the con being a bad speller etc. and reply commenters say.. "Why didn't you notice that!?" Vunerablity brings on anxiety in which makes them not think compleatly clear... hey.. I probably have spelling mistakes in what I wrote here..
