Thanks for showing interest in my place.. Let me start by saying a little about me, I am a mechanic and deals with repair and rebuild of vehicles, self employed and the owner of my own company. I have just opened a new outlet here in Manila , Philippines and moved so i am looking to rent this unit out for a long term purpose. Located at: 316 Kathleen Street, Guelph Ontario, N1H 4Y9 Canada

The apartment is a modern 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment and is strategically located in a very cool and lovely environment with five (5) appliances including dishwasher with in-suite laundry and plenty of storage space and parking space, professional and mature neighbors ensure peaceful living arrangements. Freshly painted and immaculately clean.

The rent per month is $900 monthly including utilities and $450 for damage deposit. I will like you to drive by to the building at your convenience to view the exterior of the building for you to know where the apartment is located and get back to me so that I can forward you the full interior pictures to you to have an idea how beautiful and spacious the inside looks.

Waiting to hear from you soon,
Regards

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

This is a scam.. I know the area. They do not ask for deposit as such. Just 1st. & last months rent. They do not allow in-suite laundry!! Nor does the apartments allow or even have room for a dishwasher unless it is countertop. There is your tipical 2 car parking..that's it! It's not a quiet area.. the building is right by a very busy main st. The vunerable has reason to choose such deals but do not choose to be scammed. It isn't any wonder that the suicidle rate climbs!! So many different scams out there and these scammers have no morals to be found!!!! I see in some replies on web sites that some people say to the party that posted being scammed.. that they are stupid to let them selves be taken in like that! When a person is terribly vunerable for what ever reason.. it is terrible to cut them down. One never know what life can bring when we least expect it no matter how well we keep our eyes open!! And as for the con being a bad speller etc. and reply commenters say.. "Why didn't you notice that!?" Vunerablity brings on anxiety in which makes them not think compleatly clear... hey.. I probably have spelling mistakes in what I wrote here..
