Hello,

I am very grateful at your interest in my ad about the Rent of my home located at
28 Woods Rd Westbrook, ME 04092

The apartment is available and is in good condition. It goes for $600 monthly it is a1001 sq.ft 1bdroom apartment consisting of a Furnished living room, one full bathroom with a bath tub, a master bedroom with a big bed in the middle big enough to accommodate two people, an equipped kitchen and an empty room that could be used as a store or an office. It is up for rent because for the next one year or so, my wife and I are relocating to West Africa to take up a new post as a priest.

I am in my mid ages and i chose that location because of the serene environment and it is close to Amenities. I am a kind and trust worthy man and i want you to know that the money is not the problem, I just want someone who will take care of my home through the period of the Lease which is between 6months and One Year with option of extension. I am very religious and believe in fair and equal housing opportunities for all.The apartment is very close to different train stations and schools.

Please Email my wife Jane at ([email protected] ) for she is going to attend to you better. She had a nasty cycling accident; but I thank God for keeping her. So due to her condition, she is at our new home (as i go about the work of God in our new location) as we have already moved but She will give you good info on processing the keys and documents for delivery, the utilities included in the Monthly rent, application form, pictures to the place along with other information on deposits and all.THE APARTMENT IS READY IMMEDIATELY.SO PLS GET BACK TO MY WIFE AS SOON AS YOU CAN

Thank you and God bless you,
Jame

The thief will tell you that you can rent his accommodation only if you can prove that you have genuine interest. He will ask you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union) to yourself or a member of the family to show that you have sufficient finances and that you are not a "time waster".

Another variation of this scam is that you need to send money (again via Western Union) in order that the keys and other documents can be couriered to you

He will ask you to send him the transfer details.

Make no mistake ! Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected. You will never get to see the accommodation or your money again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
