Hi,
I was looking for a furnished short term rental in Boston and saw the www.lovelyapartmentcity.com ad on the Boston Craig's List. It was only after sending an info request that I looked at their other offerings in Amsterdam and Paris and thought the prices too good to be true.

I got the e-mail below from them today. The flag for me was that they only take a money transfer or bank transfer and Craig's List specifically warns to Never make a reservation for a rental using this method.

Watch out for www.lovelyapartmentcity.com! They are actively operating this scam in many cities.

I'm going to complain to Craig's List as well. They should have an automatic flag that alerts them to advertisers who are using methods that violate their own scam rules.

I just saw the site lovelyapartmentcity.com on Craig's List. It is still alive and well. In fact, it looked legitimate enough that I sent an email inquiry. I was indeed shocked at the pricing - soooo low for the geographies and apartments they'd depicted. I received the exact same response as the others above, word for word, with the exception of different calculations based on the rate they were offering the rental for. Here it is:

Thank you and have a great day.

When I read the bank transfer, I thought it seemed less legitimate. When I did a Google search for the property, I didn't see it in any satellite or other visual from Google, so I'm not even sure an address even exists. When it seems too good to be true, it is.
