Hello ,

How are you doing today, regarding my posted advert on Easy-roommate let me take a little time to tell you something about myself, the room & its amenities, price and conditions to rent.

Why i am renting:
I live in a 3 bedroom flat like i told you but the 2 rooms vacant which i am offering for rent is because my previous flatmates are through with there activities and work here and has gone back to there respective states. So, i need people who are fun to be with, people whom we could share times and moments together, not just minding your business or going into your room after the day....but you can always have your private time and affair if you so wish and desire.

About myself
I am a young 23yr old female who grew up abroad. I'm currently doing my masters in risk finance after work and this makes me return home late but can't stop having fun when its necessary. I am an accountant and thus work for s brooking firm here and also a consultant,so this makes me travel often which is the main reason why i need and search good people as flatmates so i will be rest assured that my flat is in safe hands in my absence.

I got my first degree at London School of Economics, i worked in Paris as an accountant in a brooking firm before i went to the Barcelona to take a 3 months course in public marketing and to learn the Spanish cultures and languages.Did my internship with JT Morgan in New York in 2008 which gave me an opportunity to visit the united states for the first time...what a traveler i am....lol......what else can i say..i think when we have a chat..you will hear more..

My house is located in 47 Foxley St, in the city of Toronto,Ontario and is very close to the bus transport system.

Flat Amenities
A small fridge in each room
A big freezer in the kitchen
Each room has a big wardrobe
TV connected to a cable
A surround sound system
Private toilet and bathroom for each room(ensuite room)
Washer/dryer for you laundry needs
Gas cooker and micro wave oven available in the kitchen

Utilities included in the rent:
Water
Gas refill
Electricity bill
Laundry
Parking space
Internet via wireless lan

Price:
I have two rooms for rent. Each room is for $350 and monthly utilities charges of $50 (Inclusive of council tax and internet charges) and a security deposit of $600

Therefore:
Rent per month...........$400
Security deposit..........$600

NB: The security deposit is refundable upon verification of the room which you rented to be in good order during your last day of move out from my apartment.

There is contract available for weekly, month to month and long term basis. If you want a long term rent contract, i will prefer an initial 3 months rent which is renewable 2weeks prior to the rent expiration. This is for us to get to know more about ourselves and see if we could live together happily as flatmate for a longer period.

Immediately i confirm your interest and knowing some things about you,I shall send to you the current pictures of your room and my flat in general with the kitchen and other pictures as well before we proceed with the necessary details to prepare the tenement contract necessary for your move in.

Yours sincerely

Marie

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Hi,

Thanks For your response and your interest in my room.

Attach to this email is the pictures of my room for rent, they are all of same size and has it own private toilet and bathroom. The only thing we share is the kitchen and the living room where we can relax most times and discuss and also entertain our guest.

The rent for the room is $400 inclusive of all utility bills, while the security deposit is $600 and it is refundable at the end of your stay if nothing was destroy either by you nor your guest. I hope that is okay by you?

For proper, Here is the exact address of my apartment:

47 Foxley St,
Toronto, ON ,
M6J 1P9,
Canada.

You can go and check out my apartment but you may not be able to go in as l am not around due to my work, you can check out the apartment and the environment and then get back to me with the details requested for the contract document to be prepare for us.

For us to proceed, there has to be a tenement agreement document which would confirm us as flatmates and also would be a guideline for our living as flatmates. For this document to be prepared, do get back to me with:

- Your move in date
- Your planned move out date ( or Contract period); this period can be either extended or terminated.
- Your address for me to send you your keys to your room and the apartment, your rent receipt and also your rent document.
- Your scanned ID/Passport for Identification.

Once my lawyer gets these details, the contract shall be prepared and then the next step would be for You to sign on the the contract confirming that you have reserved the room and also make payment to my mother and this payment would have to be made before you move in.

I wait to read from you soonest with these details so that we can proceed to been flatmates.

Thanks,

Oh my god,
I also received this bulk email from this dude/woman, when I signed up on easy-roomate.com. I replied back with only as little info as I could get away with, and I got the same reply email today. The only difference was that the room was going for $500, and the deposit was $700, so he oviously thinks I'm dumber or I have more money than others. As soon as it stated that I couldn't see inside the actual house, and I had to correspond via mail, I knew something was up. So I looked up the address on reverse 411, and it can up empty. Well, that just screamed warning bells, and I googled the address and luckily came across your post. This dudes needs to be busted.
