This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

You may go ahead and view the apartment from outside with the address i gave to you in previous email and you seen the pictures of the inside and you cant view the inside the apartment due to the security guiding the apartment and without the keys and the document you will be embarrassed from our security.

I live in United State presently, I have a job here and moved with my family last Summer. I have a 3 years contract with a very good chance of an extension. Am right now in Philadelphia presently and the keys to the apartment is with me here so I will only be able to come to show you round the apartment after seriousness has been established on your path. The apartment is in a very conducive environment, there are lots of cultural attractions in the area, shopping centers, restaurants and public transportation .

Am willing to rent out the apartment for Long and Short term lease its all depend on how you are willing to stay in my apartment and you will need to sign a contract but let me know if i can forward the draft copy to your email for review.

I really understand how you feel regarding viewing of the apartment but its quiet unfortunate that my lawyer have travel to United Kingdom before you contact me for the apartment that is the reason why you will be receiving the package via UPS by overnight delivery service

I will like you to know that my lawyer would have show you the apartment but his right now in United Kingdom for some Six Month program due to her profession that is the reason why you will be receiving the keys and the document of the apartment via ups at your home address you provide in your application form.

Thanks for the prompt response and i will like you to know that we are renting out our apartment to you base on trust and we believe you will be able to take good care of our property like your own.You will be making the security deposit prior receiving the package due to the cost of overnight delivery to your home address and you will be making the Month Rent when you Move in

The apartment keys/documents will be delivered to you via UPS Delivery Service on next day delivery

Once again l'm giving you this apartment on trust and do not disappoint me because l dont want our apartment to be destroyed again,if you wish to move in with your own properties,we still have one extra room that is empty so you can easily put our own things that you think you dont need in there. Here are the contents that will be delivered to you via UPS courier service.

1) Entrance and the rooms Keys
2)Paper/Permanent Flat form(Containing your reference details)
3)The Flat documented file.
4)Payment Receipts.
5)Full address and description of the Apartment

The rent rent and deposit have been stated in the contract attached and as you know that my lawyer is right now in UK for six month program. Kindly found his details below that you will need in making the deposit transfer via western union today so that you can receive the package tomorrow afternoon and move in asap. Please notice you will be making the Month rent after you move into the apartment NO Delay.

There is NO SHARING in the apartment, the extra room is meant for your own personal use and i will be glad if you can hold the keys for now till when you are ready to move in .

My lawyer have contact the ups office in UK and we will need in making the shipping fee for the package to arrive at your home address that you stated in your application form . You will be making the Month rent after you move into the apartment which is 8000 KDK, but you will be making the security deposit transfer for now 8000 HDK.
