Hello,

First of all I'm sorry for my late reply but I had a lot to work and this is the time when I could give you a message i hope that is not too late. You have contacted me about renting my apartment located in: Elisabethstraße 22, 8010 Graz. The apartment have, 1 living room, 1 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a total of 71 m². The rooms are separate. I am looking for someone who is responsible who can take care of it. Since you must know something about me, i have to tell you that i am civil engineer, married and i have one children. I work for a Italian company in Rome and my contract expires after 6 years and this is the time when we will come back so you can rent it for any period but not more then 6 years. I am the owner of this apartment and is like that in pictures. The apartment is furnished ( with the same furniture from pictures ) and complete equipped, but I have the option of sending all my furniture into storage if you want to bring your own (no extra costs for you ). The rent/month is 390/month and the deposit ( kaution ) asked is one month 390 EUR (as you know the deposit will be returned to you at the same time when you leave the apartment, informing me within 3 months). Utilities cost like water, electricity, Internet, cable tv, garbage and the parking space are included in the price. You can move in the apt in the same day when you receive the keys but the only problem is that we have the keys with us. I hope that we will find a solution. About the contract this will come legalized and signed by me, and you will have to send me a copy of it with your signature.
Thank you for your interest and I will look forward to hearing from you soon only if you are truly interested in the apartment and you are not here only to waist my time.

Ing. Daniel Aigner
Greetings from Italy

PS: Something about you will be welcome ( do you smoke ( this is not a problem ), have kids, have bad credit, can pay the rent, have pets, how many peoples you live in my apartment? )

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
