Room for Rent and other rental scams

This joker wanted to rent our property.. received the fees, and then returned this email:

"...Thanks for getting back to me, am okay with price of your renting for 1week. Your typical type of holiday house is very attractive to my family. I work for America Express company and presently working officially in America express office in Western Australia and coming back home to Europe few days before our choosen date for my family vacation date. I am coming over with my wife and 1 little kid to your holiday home. About our renting expenses, all expensive will be paid by America Express company and not me, you will Euro certified cheque meant for instant cash in the bank without no delay. I will be responsible for any bank charges, After you have cash at hand immediately, booked and schedule your holiday home for our arrival date

Kindly provide me your name to be written on the cheque, valid postal address and phone number where to instruct them to mail it out. As a staff of America express company, all vacation must be paid once, the payment will include cost of your 1week holiday home plus our family flight expenses as i will be flying from Mardrid to Germany few days after arriving back home. After you have cash at hand, booked and schedule your holiday home for our arrival date and help in transfering the remaining balance via Western union to a given travel agent who will booking our flight arrangement to Germany. I Hope i can trust you on this, because i am booking here online for the first time and hope it goes well for us.

This guy also emailed me recently, but with a different name. The email is mostly the same as the one in the OP, and it uses the same address.

I have had EXACTLY the same email - word for word.
I was immediately suspicious when I was asked to accept more money than the rental of our property and to forward the excess payment via Western Union. There are many scams involving Western Union.
The address in Madrid was the same but the scum used the name Charles Lechner.
His email address was [email protected]

Indeed there are. It's only meant for sending money to those you know personally. There's never a genuine reason to receive a payment and forward part of it on by WU.
