Subject: I thank you for your effort in trying to rent my home.

I thank you for your effort in trying to rent my home, I really appreciate the next thing is for you to fill in your information in rental application form so that we can move to the next level, but that cannot happen now until you have understood me well enough so that we can agree on the terms as it applies.

I have told you before, my family and I are presently here in Washington and it would have been a great pleasure to walk you around our home without you asking, but as you can see we are not around to do so, but you can go there, walk yourself around, peep through the window and also see the neighborhood..(THAT IS IF YOU CANNOT WAIT FOR THE ENTRANCE KEYS TO ARRIVE YOUR PRESENT HOME ADDRESS)...know it that we have made all arrangements down based on trust as a matter of urgency in ensuring that we have a reliable family to take possession of our rental property while we are gone.

Though all these are not automatic and you should know that, because the possibility of you renting our home still depends on the outcome of the information you will provide in your rental application form which you will fill, besides if we do not approve you, we will not accept you as our tenant. but if we approve you, then we can go on with the arrangement.

Here are the contents of the package that will be shipped to your present home address via a courier service, (that is if you are approved of becoming our tenant) so that you can go and view the house by yourself and also make arrangements for a possible move in at the stipulated time in the lease agreement form that will be signed by my attorney, which will also be forwarded to you as well.

1) Entrance and the rooms Keys
2) Paper/Permanent House form (Containing your reference details)
3) The duplicate of the House documented file.

Remain Blessed
Thanks

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
