This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

thanks for the mail....find attached pictures of the apartment interior... It is available as soon as you want it. you can stay as long as you want to stay, its $650 for the whole apartment per month,all bills are included in the cost of the apartment, but you will have to make a deposit of 800..Like i told you that im not in Toronto, Ontario at the moment, that i just secured a new job in a company here in UK, which mean i will be renting it out for a long time, am sorry you will not be able to view the apartment interior at the moment but you can drive by to view the exterior, because the apartment is currently locked up and have the keys here with me, so for you to get the keys to the apartment, it will posted to you via DHL Express along with the payment receipt and all the necessary papers, you will have to make a reservation payment (BOND) for the place via a money agent to me here in UK but before the payment, you and i will have to sign a rental agreement form in which i will like you to supply me the following details for me to prepare the form and send to you.
