This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.
Sounds safe. It's not!
At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.
In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.
If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Thanks for your previous emails and showing interest in renting my house,basically the keys were supposed to be with the lady who was doing the showings but unfortunately she is in coma for a few days now and she has been taken away by her family for operation and serious treatment the family had to send down the keys to me here in London, That's why the keys are here with me now, i know this may be a little inconvenient for you but all you need is to see my house from the outside and can also see the inside through the windows, because its very beautiful and all you need is just move in your stuff and then do a little cleaning, you know you can hardly find a house that is as cheap and beautiful in the whole of the City, i am not all about the money its just that i want a good tenant who will be able to take good care of my house and then will be good friends with me. Just make sure you see the house and you can get back to me so we can proceed by sending you the keys through FedEx and then go on with the documentations on renting my house.
