This person asks for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union, MoneyGram or bank transfer either to him, his lawyer, your friend or a family member.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, this person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or Moneygram with the promise that they will send the keys through a courier company.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Thanks for having interest in viewing and for your
reply ...
I own this flat some question, that it is located in
( Mayfair). I and my wife lived there before we moved to our present house in SALFORD.
I would like to know the following:
-HOW MANY OF YOU ARE GOINGTO LIVE IN MY FLAT?
-DO YOU HAVE PETS?
-WHAT DO YOU DO IN LONDON?
-WHERE ARE YOU FROM ORIGINALLY?
-DO YOU HAVE ANY REFERENCE IN LONDON?I MEAN
FRIENDS OR RELATIVES.
All this are necessary to know the kind of
person i will be giving my apartment to. I have had
some bad experience with tenants before in the past. so will ask me to come down for viewing and at the end of the day when I get to the tube station where the appointment is meant, they end up not showing up and give me call that inability to pay the rent and
deposit. Ever since my experience I and my Lawyer came to a conclusion that whoever will want us to come for viewing MUST show that he or she has
the Money at hand.
In proving this,The tenant has to pay the Refundable
security deposit of( £400) and a mouth renting(£360) TO ANY FRIEND or COUSIN OF YOUR
CHOICE in London, via the western union money
transfer. THIS MONEY IT A REFUNDABLE MONEY to you back AND I DON'T NEED YOURMONEY for
anything,IT JUST FOR ME AND MY LAWYER TO known
YOU REALLYNEED MY APARTMENT. You will send me a copy of the receipt of the transaction
you paid for your friend, for confirmation and
ascertain the fact that you are financially capable of taking my apartment and not to be hold
my rent fee after you have my flat, and after my
lawyer confirms that the transfer has been made to your friend and the transfer you made is available in western union for confirmation,I will get back to you
telling you to instruct whoever the receiver (YOUR
FRIEND or any one u use for your receiver ) is to pick up your money back for you. Also am
aware of the cost of transfer charges you will paid, which i will refund as soon ASAP meet in London for viewing.
Hope you understand.
for anymore information call me on my phone
number.

Mr & mrs
Ben.
