The apartment is very close, in walking distance to local transport, bus, etc. with very quiet neighbors and area. As you can see, it is fully furnished but I have a storage unit where you can deposit my furniture if you want to bring your own things. The rent price ($170 p.w.) includes all utilities (water, electricity,gas,internet,cable, parking) and the the lenght of the lease is flexible: long/short term. Anyway, I want to mention that the minimum lease is for 2 months. Also, the security bond is $1000 (it will be registered through RTBA along with a refund condition, so you will receive the $1000 back when you leave the apartment if everything goes well). Therefore, the first deposit will be $1680 (first month + security bond).

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.
Sounds safe. It's not!
At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.
In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.
If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Thanks for completing the application form. I consulted with my wife and I think you will be a good tenant.
I forgot to mention in my previous email, the apartment is fully insured by Apia. (http://www.apia.com.au/apia/apartment-insurance)
For any kind of repairs, you have to contact the building manager and he will get in touch with the insurance company.
Now I will explain why I want to rent the apartment. I'll start with the beginning:
I`m vascular surgeon and I professed in Brisbane at Princess Alexandra Hospital until two months ago when I received the wonderful news that I was accepted to London Bridge Hospital. Under these circumstances, I`ve moved to London with my wife and now I have to rent the apartment.
As long as I have the keys with me, in order to check the apartment, see if you like it, you need to receive the keys and the contract. I have found a way to complete the deal safe and fast, and in this way you will receive the keys in less than 3 days, to be able to move fast as well. They are a well known company all over the world, so I went to their office in London and I put the keys along with the additional documents in their custody.

This is the only way to do it given the circumstances and that is an overseas rental process. All I want is to both be safe.
