He tried to play the identical trick on our company - www.clubadriatic.com . As all other similar scammers he wants to have a credit card charged for an amount that is to be sent to "his logistics agent". Does anyone know how these scammers operate? Do they simply use stolen credit cards?

They will use a phished/stolen/fake credit card number, and will want you to charge MORE than your cost. They will then ask you to forward the extra money to someone else (their agent, mover, shipper, whatever they make up) by western union or another transfer service.

In some cases, they will pay the correct amount, but will cancel--but for some reason, you won't be able to credit the original card; you will once again have to send cash somewhere for a refund (though they will likely tell you that you can keep something for your troubles).

Either way, eventually, the credit card fraud will be discovered, and you will be dealing with a chargeback and the loss of any money you sent.
