Room for Rent and other rental scams

I got a fairly typical response to my Craig's List ad asking for availability dates for my vacation rental. I replied as I always do, with a copy of the contract and then I got the following email immediatly ~ like it was on instant response! Anybody aware of this? When I Googled his name, you guys came up with a Scot Lambert needed someone to take his dog:

Hello,

Kindly check if we can use 7nights(Oct 8th to Oct 15th) at your
place. I want you to get back to me if it is available. We are 2, My Wife
and I. We are coming for our honeymoon, we neither smoke nor drink and we do
not have pets. I await your swift response.

I've edited it the best I can with the colour and the quotes. It now makes a little sense... CW

This is a typical Craigslist scam. West African in style and it refers only vaguely to the "item".

That's a new one to me, but it's certainly a scam. Who waits until the last moment to book their honeymoon?

2Sparkey4U,
"Is the item still for sale" do they even read the ads before they answer them? This was an ad for a summer rental right, And did I miss something whats the deal with his dog? :)
