This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Frankly speaking am really impressed to have you as tenant.

Firstly, you are required to make down payment of the First month Rent . And Once the rent is been sent and confirmed, the keys/documents would be ship to the address provide in the application and you will be receiving it within the 24 to 48hours. The rent would be send via Western Union Money Transfer. I want you to know that you application has been approved.

Here are the contents that will be delivered to you via DHL courier service.
1)Entrance and the rooms Keys
2)Paper/Permanent Flat form
3)The Flat documented file.
4)Payment Receipts.
5)Full address and description of the Apartment.

This just happened to me last night. I sent in money and then figured out it was a scam.

If you sent money by Western Union and the scammer hasn't picked it up already, you can get it back! Call 1-800-448-1492. Good luck!

We tried. It was too late and he/she had already picked it up.
