Hi,

I was recently looking to rent an apartment in Utrecht and replied to an ad on kamernet.nl. The link is: http://kamernet.nl/kamer/701856, but it has been deleted by the landlord. He replied quite quickly and the reply seems to be very similar to some of the ones in the following thread http://www.scamwarners.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=9997&start=15

Here is a transcription:

The apartment is equipped and furnished with a large spaces. The spacious open plan living/dining area is presented in a modern style with good quality furniture. Throughout the apartment wood flooring has been laid down. The lounge area gives access to a balcony (facing south). The balcony is presented with a satellite dish, The separate is nice and is supplied with all necessary equipment and a scullery.
This apartment is presented with a good sized bedroom with wardrobe and a 2nd bedroom which can be used as room. Each bedroom is attached with private toilet and bathroom, the living room has a visitor toilet and bathroom with Dinning.
The whole two bedroom flat cost 820Euro with a caution fee of 1000Euro,while a room cost 410Euro with a caution fee of 600Euro. The flat is located at Vleutenseweg, 77,3532HD,Utrecht,at the second floor of the building, just some minute walking distance from the flat.

We can chat more about it on skype ranti.joke100,my email [email protected]

Waiting to hear from you soon.
Regards
Josef

After this, I sent him an e-mail with some non-sensitive personal details (to which I got no reply) and added him to my Skype contacts. He said hello a couple of times via Skype and the last time I informed him that I had already found a place. He did not reply. It then dawned on me that this could be a scam and I blocked him. What do you think?

I was a bit unsure about posting his e-mail and Skype contacts here, since I don't know for sure if he is a scammer, but I trust you will remove them if you think there is not enough evidence for this to be public.

Thank you!

You did the right thing by trusting your instincts.

Look familiar?

You can see that the description you posted is nothing more than a cut and paste of other ads. You can also see the typical mistakes caused by cut and paste--mistakes that someone who was really trying to rent his apartment would not make.
