This person asks for a deposit payment to his accountant in order to reserve the property.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it could also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Per Month is (€ 2400).

The full rate for the 5 Months is:(€ 12000).To secure your date, you are to pay 50% of the actual rate which is (€ 6000) plus a (€ 500) refundable security deposit all in total is (€ 6500).

For you to see my apartment my caretaker is at the apartment for any customer who wants to look the apartment. However, the caretaker will request from you the Booking Agreement form duly signed by both of us and any mode of identification before you can be allowed into the apartment. So you will have to make your reservation first for you to come with a copy of the booking agreement form completely filled and signed and the payment confirmation slip.

The reason why you need to have my booking form and make your deposit is because some so called client have taken advantage of this to steal from my tenant and this has made me put this as my policy, for the safety of both my business and my tenant and intending clients.

You should also understand that I have client in the apartment now, when you make the deposit; a confirmation letter will be sent to you and you will also be forwarded to the caretaker for verification.

Please note, I am not saying your suggestion for you to come and see the place is bed, but I always confirm payment for any of my apartment before showing it or secure the date.

One thing I can assure or guarantee you is, if after signing my booking agreement form and make payment, you come to my apartment and see something contrary to what I sent you in pictures or you do not like it, I will refund your money immediately in full.

I will appreciate if you could please get back to me with a specific date of your arrival and a date you will be departing my apartment to enable me work on your booking.

I have attached the booking agreement form and information needed to make payment of the rent to secure your dates. Once you make payment, forward me a copy of the booking agreement form completely filled and signed and the payment confirmation slip via email, for my own record and to confirm you have made payment so I can sign the booking form and forward it back to you with your receipt to show that the apartment is reserved for your dates.

We handle all the cleaning and we provide all toiletries for your stay. Every other information is on the booking form, I will be the one to check you in on your arrival,

Seems like he is at it again: I was going to rent this apartment in Barcelona off Craig's List, and the owner, Michael John, requested a MoneyGram be sent to his accountant: Ashton Addison in Valencia Spain. I'm glad I check Scamwarners, it saved me my vacation!
