First of all i'm sorry to write you in english but i don't speak Spanish. I just read your e-mail regarding my apartment located in : Carrer dels Tallers 54, 08001, Barcelona, Spain. It has: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathrooms, 1 kitchen and 1 living room. I bought this apartment for my son during he studies in Spain, but now he come back home (Liverpool/United Kingdom) permanently, so I'm renting the place for unlimited time. Before we go any further I would like to know a little something about you, like how many persons you intend to live in the apartment, and for how long. The flat is exactly like in the pictures, fully furnished and renovated. Also, very important, the utilities (cold/hot water, electricity, gas, heating, wireless broadband Internet, digital TV, 1 parking spots, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, etc.) are included in the price of 300 Euro per month. The security deposit is also 300 Euro, and you get it back, when you decide to leave the apartment (you will have to give me at least 30 days notice). As for me, you can rest assured that I will never ask you to leave the apartment. My son is building her life here, and i am too old to move to Spain, so we won't disturb you. You can use my furniture, or you can also use your own if you prefer. If you decide to use yours, you will have access to a very large and well ventilated cellar, where you can store my furniture. Now, a little bit about myself so we can get to know each other better. My name is Joaquin Galindo and I'm a 54 years old doctor pedriathic from Liverpool / United Kingdom, planning to retire in the next 6 years. I`m a Spanish citizen but I don`t speak Spanish because I living in United Kingdom since I was 2 year. I have no problem if you will keep animals. The only inconvenience is that my job doesn't allow me to leave Liverpool even for one single day. But this won't affect you at all. I can make arrangements to rent the apartment from Liverpool (on my expense of course).

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram to an escrow company with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.
Sounds safe. It's not!
The website is a fake.
These companies do not work this way.
At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.
In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.
If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Like I have inform you before, the price you shall pay on the first month of rent will be 300 EUR + 300 security deposit ( 600 euro ), with no extra taxes to pay. I must have one month rent + security deposit from you. The money, I want to recive it monthly to my bank account, so I hope it will be no problem for you to wire the money to my bank account. The apartment is ready for you, you will need only to receive the keys and the contract to check it, and see if you like it. Obviously we need a way to complete this deal, that will allow us to make sure we receive what we are after. In order of that I have found a way for us to complete the deal safely and fast, and in this way you will receive the Keys in less than 2 days, if you move fast as well. I have found a procedure that will allow you receive the keys of it and through this way you will see it and decide if you will stay in the apt or not before I receive my payment. The company what I've hired is a major real estate agency from London, specialized in international rentals, to represent me.
They are called DeWitt Rental Company, and their website is: http://www.dewitt-rental-company.com
This agency will handle the delivery of the keys, the inspection of the flat and also the payment .
Here's how it works :
1 – To start this transaction, I need your full name, address and telephone number. I will also need to know the rental period so I can put it in the contract.
2 – I will go to the DeWitt Rental Company office to drop off the keys and documents of the house, along with the contract
3 – DeWitt Rental Company will check the documents to make sure I am the actual owner of the flat, then, they will send you an invoice.
