Am in receipt of your rental inquiry. $800 is the monthly rent for the stated property while $800 for the security deposit (refundable after lease period as long as there are no damages on property after inspection). For immediate move in, a total payment of $1600 is required but if you are not moving in immediately, you would be required to make a down payment of $800 for the security deposit to hold property till desired move in date.

Currently, am not present in the States to give you a tour of my property due to my contract job offer in the United Kingdom which will last for 5years and I do not have a local representative to show you the house. I did not plan leasing my home but on the second thought I realized it will be better off renting property and have some one cared for it in my absence rather than leaving it empty. If you are interested in renting the property and willing to work with me despite my absence then I would email the necessary papers for the lease to you, for necessary endorsement. Home will be available for lease for a maximum of 5years

My property is in a perfect location, neighborhood is secured, good for growing up kids and the people staying around are also good.

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram with a promise that he will send the keys through a courier company.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

We both had a little debate about your application considering all factors but at the tail end I was able to convince him that your application is modest enough and we do not have any reason to doubt either your ability to take care of the property or be on-time with monthly rent payments (Beginning with this one, because that is the only reason he might want to change his mind) because so far so good, you have been forthcoming with me and am comfortable renting my house to you. Luiz, am happy to let you know that we have hereby accepted your application and also given you the opportunity to rent our property and live in it as long as you have stated in the rental application or even more depending on how our relationship in the future as property owner - Tenant is being maintained. The home is in a good shape so you do not have to worry about that. It now remains your duty to take care of my home like it was your own. Incase of damages, you will be responsible for repairs while the total charges incurred in fixing the damage will be deducted from the next month rent and the balance sent to me.

We have prepared the Lease Agreement and attached to this mail. Though we will let you move in by last weekend in January as you intend, we've made the monthly rent to start from 1st February. Thank you for what you posted. There was a red flag when she asked me to wire money to Madrid, but when I saw your post I was convinced that this is a scam. I contacted the county. They do not own the house.
