Room for Rent and other rental scams

Hello everybody,,,
something to share with you.

I was looking for a short rent flat in London during the June - July 2012 Period.
I ran into a site, called http://knightsbridge-holiday-rentals.co.uk/

owned by a compay called : KNIGHTSBRIDGE CATERING AND MANAGEMENT SERVICE LIMITED
somehow, I did not feel comfortable with this company.

They showed a 3-bed-luxury flat earls-court in London, for £ 115 Per Night.

I did a quick check on whois on that site, and also a run on the telephone number under Google search as well as other tools on the network. each with various information suggesting to me that, there is something not right about this site.
I did contact Authority in London, and provided them with details.

Last contact with the company is when I asked that I wanted to send a friend of mine who is in London to check out the Flat. They never replied.

The Address of the company as listed on their site was:
46 CLERKENWELL CLOSE
LONDON
EC1R 0AZ
+44 020 3286 8527

Below is the bank information they provided to me to wire the money to:
LLOYDS TSB BANK PLC
MISS HELEN BULLOCK
ACCOUNT NUM:25822460
SORT CODE:30-92-89
IBAN:GB35LOYD30928925822460
BIC: LOYDGB21393

Now, When I visit their site, I get re-directed to http://owners-directholiday-apartment.co.uk/
And it shows under construction.

Please be careful

greetings. just joined up here. came up across you whilst researching knightsbridge holiday rentals and / or owners direct holiday apartment.

an overseas friend recently complained of 1st suspicions, then confirmation about this outfit. they claim to have lost £500 (five hundred) or so pounds sterling. their contact then was a certain (mr?) "robinson". royal bank of scotland / RBS account.

no idea whats meant by this previous / new website being "under co(ns)tru(c)tion".

i thought you should know that my websearch also yielded this. same graphics / software, land address and phone number.

http://serviceapartment-london.co.uk/

descibed as Registered No: SC210681 different to the earlier clone website.

?did my best to cover / address / raise / say all which comes to me. anything more, please feel free to contact me (here, via email etc).

http://serviceapartment-london.co.uk/ appears to be a real nest of legitimate and fake Ltd companies

The contact us on the left hand side has the details of a legitimate Scottish Ltd company with a totally different address.

LETTING SOLUTIONS LIMITED
6 BLOOM FARM
MAIN STREET,LIVINGSTON VILLAGE
LIVINGSTON
WEST LOTHIAN
EH54 7AF
Company No. SC210681

The company name that appears on the main "contact us" page is not a legitimate Limited Company.

The WhoIs has yet another legitimate Ltd company

Registrant:
LETTINGS OF KNIGHTSBRIDGE LIMITED

Registrant type:
UK Limited Company, (Company number: 7564534)

Registrant's address:
46 CLERKENWELL CLOSE
46 CLERKENWELL CLOSE
LONDON
EC1R 0AZ
United Kingdom

This company was incorporated on 15/03/2011, and doesn't appear to have any web presence and the address appears to be a residential property. And why wait nearly a year before setting up a website.

Then there is the SagePay graphic, on a site that has no apparent means of taking payment.

My gut feeling is that the site is fake.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

more thanks.

so is there any terrestrial authority / agency this can be reported to?

i found this scottish (and more credible seeming) letting solutions. can't find any mention of it / their details on service apartment's website. don't know what it means if thats been (wrongfully?) used.

nota bene the phrasing and spelling etc of the blurb / spec: "Millions of business travellers visit London, the thriving business capital of Europe, across the year and a steadily growing fraction of them are wise enough to for serviced apartments over hotels. Our mission to provide high-quality accommodations at affordable costs for discerning travellers visiting London soon became a passion and we set our targets to provide an exccellent way of confort for travellers.?" yet everything else (like faq, profiles of supposed premises / deals, other info etc) is written normally enough.

no idea if its the norm, but no specific land address numbers are given for these places.

"customer support" neglects to include a missing phone number — but theres a london landline elsewhere.
